Indian media is running massive propaganda on minority issues in Bangladesh: Foreign Affairs Advisor to Foreign Diplomats
The government has told foreign diplomats stationed in Dhaka that widespread propaganda is being carried out on minority issues in Bangladesh.
Foreign Affairs Advisor Towhid Hossain told reporters after a briefing for diplomats at the state guest house Padma on Monday.
He said, “A section of the media, especially the Indian media, is involved in this propaganda. We have said that our society has always maintained communal harmony.”
He also said, “We are not saying that there have been no incidents of attacks on minorities. But, these are isolated incidents and they happen more or less during the tenure of all governments.”
Towhid Hossain said that the interim government is committed to maintaining communal harmony and action will be taken against the culprits if they try to destroy harmony.
He also said that after the political change on August 5, there has been a change in the dynamics of bilateral relations with India.
“We want to maintain normal relations based on national interest,” he added.
